One of the most heartbreaking realities in the Church today is seeing people abandon their walk with God because someone they admired failed them.

Many discovered their passion for worship through a preacher. Others became committed to serving because a leader believed in them. Some embraced the faith because they were deeply inspired by a gifted minister. But when that leader stumbled, changed, or disappointed them, their confidence in God crumbled as well.

The truth is simple: their faith had become anchored in a person rather than in Jesus Christ. No pastor, prophet, apostle, evangelist, or teacher was ever meant to occupy the place that belongs to Christ alone. Every servant of God is human, dependent on God’s grace, and capable of making mistakes. Only Jesus is perfect. Only Jesus is the Saviour.

Love your spiritual leaders. Honor them. Pray for them. Learn from their lives as they follow Christ. But never build your faith on the strength of any human being. Build it on Christ alone.

People may fail you. Churches may disappoint you. Even those you respect the most may one day let you down. Yet Jesus Christ remains forever faithful. He never changes, never abandons His own, and never fails those who put their trust in Him.

If your life is firmly rooted in Christ, the storms of disappointment may shake you, but they will never destroy your faith. Keep your eyes on Jesus, stand firmly on His Word, and let Him alone be the unshakable foundation of your life.

Be blessed.
